Catholic: Who do you confess your sins to?
Baptist: God. So, who do you confess your sins to?
Catholic: A priest.
Baptist: I heard about that, who does the priest confess his sins to?
Catholic: A bishop.
Baptist: Who does the bishop confess his sins to?
Catholic: A cardinal.
Baptist: Who does the cardinal confess his sins to?
Catholic: The Pope.
Baptist: Okay, who does the Pope confess his sins to?
Catholic: God.
Baptist: Oh, so the Pope is a Baptist!

holey!! this country is insane!!!! the temperature has dropped some 30 degrees in the last week!!!!!!!!!! thats just insaaane! and i almost froze my toes off today while dropping my sandia off at her bus stop.. her bus just never came, and we were standing there in the freezing cold (literally) for like 30mins.. the worst part is that depite my shorts, my legs were not the ones suffering.. it was my toes and hands!!! and i was wearing shoes and gloves!!!! go figure.. but really, my toes, i was feeling pain.. and i couldnt take it anymore so i told her i would wait indoors. and my toes were still freezing. and then after a while of seeing that that bus would surely not come, i told her we should go catch the other bus, that, while it isnt direct, it was indeed coming by the.. uhh.. "bus" loads.. so we went, and immediately that one came by.. then i was off to the student centre (yeah, "centre" they spell weird over here..) and i took of my shoes and just held my toes trying to warm them back.. it took around another half hour to get them to any semi-suitable non-painful state. jen wrapped a scarf around my neck.. but my neck wasnt cold at all.. 'twas but my toes.. and when i asked to see if i could wrap it 'round my toes, she gave me a "i-really-dont-want-to-say-no-but-that-would-be-gross" look, and so i just kept holding my toes.. all the while, of course, i was wearing my name tag that said, simply, "handsome" haha.. i kept getting looks from people.. and i would forget that i was wearing it.. haha.. not to mention the really awkward situations when people came upto me and said "hello handsome.." (which is what the nametag was supposed to incite, tho, not so much from guys.. ) but, alles be, for comedy.. HEY it rhymes!! i.. uhm.. k, im actually really tired, so im going to sleep.. oh! i rolled my first snowballs yesterday morning with jen at 4am.. haha it was sooo much fun.. especially when you get the random night-walker yelling out... "are you wearing shorts?!?!" at 4am.. haha.. k.. um.. sleep. *head slams down onto keyboard as he falls unconscious* (holey its cold in here.. theres another air leak in my window.. and for some reason they lowered the power on the heating unit in my room for some reason.. or perhaps in all rooms.. but im cold now. cold. sleepy. cold.

sooooo i guess you all want to know how it went.. (for those not in the know.. i finally met my future wife's parents on sunday.. the same ones that prohibited me from calling her home, and from ever visiting.. the same ones that kicked her out of her own home.. all because im white) well, let me tell you, it went well, they were really nice to me, and we had some fondue (which turned out to have been way to alcoholic for us.. haha, but still delicious nonetheless) and then i came back home.. and that was that.. no dad cleaning the shotgun, no setup for my impending death.. nop, all went smoothly.. next step.. breaking the news to them.. (aka asking for their daughter's hand... *knees buckle*)

and this here is a really interesting perspective into the whole racial problem, and proposed a very interesting solution..
[1:51:29]
i shall post this in its own section one day, but for the time being, read martin luther king jr's famous "i have a dream" speech...
"[...] I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today. [...]"

great, i bought a new laundry detergent, and this time its scented, (the previous one i had found deserted in the laundry room, and was unscented) and i find myself unconsciously smelling my clothes.. im sitting right now, clacking away at my computer, and im almost hyperventilating cuz i can smell the freshness of my clothes instead of my own stench for once..
[3:15:30]
he asked me to add the following as well:
(04:10:38) oleg!: you forgot the last part of what I said
[...]
(04:11:23) oleg!: the last part
(04:12:36) oleg!: from everything that she was responding with, I could totally tell that people just see if something makes sense without trying to see where applying that piece of knowledge is acceptable or not (checking preconditions)
(04:12:46) oleg!: write that please
[3:06:00]
to quote my friend oleg on the subject of evolution, truth, and fact-gathering:
(03:58:02) oleg!: right so I was playing starcrat and then I ran across a person who could make coherent sentences, in game chats you do not find that
(03:58:26) insaner: like eliza type thing?
(03:59:28) oleg!: so we chatted for about 6 hours regarding various things and then we came to a point saying that people accept various things just because they were conditioned to it and they no longer question it, and of coarse, I brought up evolution, then we chatted like 3 hours I tried to explain [to] her various concepts such as entropy and why it doesn't make sense to build up information by removing it, we did not get very far but
(04:00:10) oleg!: from everything that she was responding with I could totally tell that people just take some piece of knowledge and they do not necesary question that piece but they do not question WHEN it can be applied

Re: the original greek of the ancient manuscripts of the new testament:
"Our Lord's final word from the cross, 'It is finished,' has been found on papyrus business documents--on receipts, if you will. It means 'paid in full.'"
